UCED has been awarded in the Czech 100 Best competition

December 5, 2022

The UCED energy group of the CREDITAS Group succeeded in the 27th annual Czech 100 Best competition organised by Comenius. It received an award in the category Dynamic Growth and Stability. The awards ceremony was held in the Spanish Hall at Prague Castle. The diploma was presented to Richard Holešinský, Chief Investment Officer of UCED.

“The award essentially confirms the direction we aim to pursue. We want to become the leader in new energetics. Since 2022, UCED has been one of the national aggregators supporting ČEPS in stabilising the electricity network in the Czech Republic,” Richard Holešinský remarks and continues: “We have completed the acquisition of UCED Elektrárna Prostějov. It is a natural gas-fired combustion turbine facility and basically forms a separate aggregation block with a power output of 58 megawatts, which we intend to extend further. We are purchasing a second turbine with a power output of 50 MW, which constitutes an investment of approximately one billion.”

The group also invests in electric boilers, extends cogeneration units. It is planning to build combined-cycle power plants. “We expect the total costs of building the aggregation block in the Czech Republic to exceed 20 billion Czech crowns. Moreover, we are completing a major transaction in the Great Britain,” the UCED Chief Investment Officer adds.

The Czech 100 Best competition has been organised by Comenius, a pan-European society for culture, education and scientific & technical cooperation, since 1996. The awards granted reflect the results of a survey conducted each year by Comenius in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Commerce among 35,000 respondents.
